While the MT-03 is making its debut here, the R3 has made a comeback to India.

India In India, Yamaha Motor has introduced the MT-03 and the 2023 YZF R3. The platform and engine of the two motorcycles are identical. While the MT-03 costs Rs 4.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the MT-03 is priced at Rs 4.6 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The same 321cc liquid-cooled, 4-strone, inline, two-cylinder motor powers the 2023 Yamaha R3 and 2023 Yamaha MT-03. This generates 29.5 Nm of torque and 42 horsepower. The lightweight diamond frame used in both motorcycles is suspended between a USD and a monocross rear suspension, with 125mm of travel available on the back and 130mm on the front.

The 2023 Yamaha R3’s design borrows heavily from the liter-class YZF-R1 with a complete fairing. LED lighting is used in the turn signals, taillights, and headlamps. The R15, which is available for purchase in India, is enhanced by the R3. The aggressive streetfighter flair of the MT-03 sets it apart from the other members of the MT family. This has all-LED lighting as well. The bikes’ front and rear brakes are provided by 298mm and 220mm discs, respectively.

Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies Eishin Chihana responded to the launch by saying that Yamaha is committed to strengthening its premium segment range by introducing models that cater to the needs of young Indian consumers, which is a key component of the company’s ‘The Call of the Blue’ brand campaign. India has a large fan base for the R-series and MT-series models because to their iconic style and exceptional performance. The higher displacement models in this series are what many Yamaha enthusiasts have been expecting for a very long time to enhance their riding experience.

In keeping with this commitment, we are thrilled to announce the arrival in India today of our newest models, the hyper-naked MT-03 and the supersport bike R3. We are sure that both of these models, which highlight Yamaha’s innovative and state-of-the-art technology, will pique the curiosity of our youthful clientele in the nation and provide them with an exhilarating riding experience. We hope to further support India’s expanding premium motorcycle market with the introduction of these step-up models in the R- and MT-series.”

Track-focused, the 2023 Yamaha R3 has an almost equal weight distribution in the front and rear. The aerodynamics ensure that the motorcycle pushes the limits of performance while the handlebar crown made of cast aluminum improves handling.

The MT-03 comes in two colors, Midnight Cyan and Midnight Black, while Yamaha offers the R3 in two colors: Icon Blue and Yamaha Black. The two color selections have the same prices. Customers who are interested can reserve their motorcycles starting today on the Yamaha website.
