The 76ers have recognized James Harden’s trade request. It took much longer than Harden had hoped, but the 10- time All- Star is heading to the Clippers, marking his fourth platoon in four seasons.

The news that LA had acquired Harden in exchange for Marcus Morris Sr., Nicolas Batum, Robert Covington, and Kenyon Martin Jr. was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski early on Tuesday morning and multiple draft picks.
Harden’s time with the 76ers was short- lived. He appeared in 79 games with the ballot over one and a partial seasons, posting pars of 21.0 points, 10.6 assists and 6.4 rebounds per game. The 76ers were not suitable to advance further than the alternate round of the playoffs in either of his seasons in Philadelphia.
Harden will now have an occasion to contend for a crown in Los Angeles with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. It’s where he reportedly wanted to go, and Leonard and George were said to have been” on board” with Harden joining their core.

The Clippers add Harden and Tucker following an injury- riddled season that saw them post a 44-38 record and lose in the first round of the playoffs to the Suns. Leonard played in two of the five games throughout the series while George was out.
In 2024, Harden, George, and Leonard might all be free agents, which presents a challenge for the Clippers. If George and Leonard decline their player options for the 2024–2025 season, they will be able to enter unrestricted free agency like Harden.
Along with the package of draft picks, the 76ers admit 22-time-old sect Kenyon Martin Jr. and a hoard of stager gyration players to remain competitive with the campaigns atop of the Eastern Conference, Boston and Milwaukee. Morris, a Philadelphia native, equaled 11.2 points per game for the Clippers last season. Batum and Covington are both known for their protective versatility, while Martin Jr. provides some downside in the deal. According to Wojnarowski, Danny Green will be waived by the 76ers to finalize the transaction.
It’s also worth noting that the Clippers didn’t have to give up Terance Mann, who was reportedly a player of Philadelphia’s interest in a implicit deal.

Harden is only a time removed from subscribing a two- time, $68.6 million extension with the 76ers that includes a player option. After the 2023–2024 season, he will become an unrestricted free agent after exercising his $35.6 million player option.
