Extension of SBI Chairman by the government:

According to sources, the government gave its approval on Thursday to extend Dinesh Khara’s term as chairman of the State Bank of India till August of 2019. The endorsement comes before his three-year term expires on October 6, 2023.

The sources claimed that an SBI chairman may keep the position till the age of 63 in accordance with the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) regulation. They stated that Khara will turn 63 in August of next year.

Additionally, according to sources, the ACC has also approved extending Ashwini Kumar Tiwari’s term as managing director for an additional two years past January 27, 2024.
